The MSU Kendo club successfully hosted the 2009 MWKF summer camp. About 70 members kenshi from the midwest as well as kenshi from North Carolina and Tennessee had four intense practices. Camp instructors were
- Yamanaka Shigeki sensei hanshi 8-dan winner of the 8'th ZNKR 8-dan championships
- Saito Shigeki sensei kyoshi 8-dan
- Tagawa Yoshiteru kyoshi 8-dan MWKF's own head instructor.
